Razzaq backs Pakistan bowlers to do damage against India

KARACHI: As strong as India’s batting line-up is, former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq feels it is a bit top heavy and that their middle-to-lower-order batsmen haven’t had many chances to play, something that could give a slight edge to Pakistan pacers in the Champions Trophy final against India, which is just minutes away now.

“If our bowlers are able to dismiss their top order quickly then they will have an advantage as their middle and lower-order batsmen haven’t batted much, which means they could be a bit rusty,” Razzaq told The Express Tribune.

“Our bowlers are bowling in good areas and can trouble the Indian top-order, while they are also riding a winning streak and must be full of confidence.”

In Razzaq’s opinion, Pakistan should at the very least target a total close to 300 at the batting-friendly Oval pitch in order to give the bowlers some room to work their magic.

“If they get to bat first then they must score at least 290-300 to help Pakistani bowlers,” he added.
