RAWALPINDI: The Airport Security Force (ASF) seized on Monday two kilogrammes of heroin at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport from a female passenger travelling to Saudi Arabia through Muscat.
The passenger, identified as Nazir Mahi, belongs to Muzaffargarh. She was handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).
The passenger had hidden the narcotics in secret compartments of an ice bag.
Last month, the ANF had an Afghan national at the same airport after heroin-filled capsules were found in his stomach. When the authorities scanned Gul Rehman Umerzai, they found the capsules in his gut. Umerzai was leaving for Italy.
ANF officials took him to a hospital to retrieve the capsules. The arrested man was a resident of the Afghan refugee camp in Shabqadar, Matta.
