Three policemen martyred, one injured in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Three policemen were martyred while another one was injured when miscreants attacked a police mobile at the Ghaz Chowk area of Chamkani police station Thursday evening.

SP Rural Furqan Bilal told The Express Tribune that three police constables were martyred and one head constable was left injured when miscreants attacked a police mobile during a routine patrol on the outskirt of the city before iftari.

“One of the attackers has also been killed,” he said, adding that the injured head constable had been shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH).

The police mobile was on a routine patrol when unidentified motorcyclists attacked it.

One of the attackers was also killed in retaliatory fire.

Police took the body of the attacker into possession.

Those martyred have been identified as Constable Itikhab Alam, Shahid and Umar Hayat.

The injured head constable was identified as Shiraz whose condition is stated to be critical.
