Anti-encroachment drive: Traders, locals protest on Murree Road

ABBOTTABAD: Members of the traders’ associations, local bodies and locals of Galiyat on Tuesday blocked the main Murree road at various locations to protest against an anti-encroachment operation by the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA). A representative of the traders said, “Every year during the tourist season, GDA starts anti-encroachment drive and destroys our businesses. But this time, we will not let them do this”. Two days ago, PTI K-P Assembly member Sardar Idrees had assured traders of Galiyat that the issue would be resolved through talks.
